Art at the Sundance Hotel, Winston-Salem

The name “Sundance” seems to inspire creativity and that is no truer than here at our hotel in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Our “Starving Artists Program” has been designed to provide local artists with a place to showcase their talents and hotel guests with the opportunity to purchase a memento from their stay with us. All monies from the purchase of the artwork is given directly to the artists themselves.

Each of the guest room and suite accommodations at the Sundance Plaza Hotel, Spa, Golf, and Conference Center is designated as an individual gallery for an area artist and features one-of-a-kind works by painters, musicians, writers, and others reflecting the local and regional taste.

Some of the artists we have represented on the property.

  • Judi Russell-Painter
  • Dr. Mayo Angelou-Author
  • Erik S. Dahlager-Gun Moil Prints and Photography
  • Lucy & Gorden-stoneware and raku pottery
  • Frank Holder-Welder of Sculpture
  • Jerry Campbell-Western Music Songwriter/Singer
  • Devora Transon-Folk Art
  • Reggie Buie-Jazz
Sundance Plaza Hotel

The artwork includes birds; busts; stainless steel, metal, and polished sculptures; paintings; drawings; photography; and much more — all with an emphasis on simplicity.

Elsewhere at the hotel, the design and décor of nearly every public space has been crafted with a nod to the arts. From the moment you arrive, guests see the wrought-iron artwork on our exterior.

Inside the lobby they are welcomed by our artistic representation of a relaxing haven including blue ceilings, water fountains, and more to create a welcoming, calming space.

Outside there are peaceful sculpture gardens where guests can relax and reflect. Even the hotel lighting is designed in such a way as to play upon the décor and architecture to create an artistic impression.

Sundance Plaza Hotel

For a hotel designed to appeal to the five senses, the art at the Sundance appeals to your sense of sight, sound, touch — and of course your art sensibilities!
